It’s that time of year again. Join us for the perfect end to the uni year with the annual Critical Mass Harbour Bridge ride next Friday.

Following the success of October’s pirate ride, UNSW Bike Club will again be running a feeder ride from UNSW.

What: Critical Mass Harbour Bridge Ride
When: Friday, 25 November – meet at 4:50 pm for 5:00 pm departure
Where: Meet at the Anzac Parade main entrance, UNSW.

The main ride will start at the Archibald Fountain in Hyde Park at 5:30 pm.

As you may know, the UNSW Bike Club has been actively seeking a permanent workshop space on campus and now it is crunch time.

Our final proposal is sitting on the desk of the decision maker and we need to make sure he knows how much a permanent bike space will help the UNSW cycling community.

If you have ever been to one of our workshops and been happy with what you learnt or how your bike was fixed, please email Professor Fred Hilmer (vice-chancellor@unsw.edu.au) and Mr Neil Morris (edus@unsw.edu.au) and urge them to support our proposal.

Anything as short as “I support the UNSW Bike Club proposal” to as long a message you feel necessary would be great.

Guaranteed to appeal to crafters, craft lovers and bike-riders alike, the Powerhouse Museum is holding a set of workshops this weekend paying tribute to the exhilaration a bike ride can offer. Craft up your wheels with funky flowers, or book for artist-led workshops and create high-visibility jewellery that will keep you safe while looking sweet, plus other groovy accessories. You can even learn the Zen of bicycle maintenance.

Free with museum admission ($6 for students); bookings essential.

We’ll have info on upcoming Bike Club events, plus our new stickers and CRAZY BIKES!

And we’ll be starting up our regular series of bike fix-it workshops on the Quad Lawn on Tuesdays from 12-2. Just look for the Bike Club banner!

Hello bike riders/admirers,
The time has come for all things Annual and so we’re having a General Meeting to celebrate! Come join us at CLUB BAR on the first floor of the UNSW Roundhouse on Tuesday, 29 May at 6PM for a whole heap of Bike Club-related gasbagging! If you want to know more about Bike Club and/or get involved in what we do, then this will be the only thing you need to do on Tuesday!

You’ll hear about what we’ve done in the past year, what we plan to do in the future, and what your fellow students want to see happen at UNSW for cyclists. Want more bike lanes from your house to campus? Come along. Want to get your hands dirty helping run our weekly workshops? Club Bar, Tuesday 6PM. Want to be the guru behind the Bike Loans program? The door will be open. Want to tear down the Chancellery and replace it with a BMX ramp? We might just elect you President.

Free food from the Bistro, free beer and soft drinks from the Unibar, and free speech about Bike Club. What more could you ask?
