Ever been in a situation where you were unsure where you should be on the road, what was the best way to take the corner or just had a few wobbles as you rode along? This series of cycling courses may be what you need to make your life that little bit easier and to give you the confidence to get out on your bike more often.
We are offering a free cycling course to staff and students of UNSW. This course will be run by a Austcycle certified cycling teacher and will prepare you for riding on Sydney’s roads. We will be meeting at Centennial Park
Dates: Saturday 22nd & 29th May
Time: 2pm-5pm (try to arrive by 1.45 if possible)
To book a place contact: Jacqui Hicks by phone 0404 176981, or email me.
Randwick City Council is offering one-day bike mechanics courses every month, starting on Saturday 10th April.
They’re also running cycling skills courses from 23rd May, at the Des Renford Aquatic Centre.
You’ll get to know your bike, learn how to fix a flat tyre and the basics of maintaining your gears and brakes.
A refundable $20 deposit is required to book your place, which you’ll get back in cash when you attend the course.
Participants need to bring their bike to the Randwick Community Centre by 9am and the course runs until approximately 1pm.
Tools will be supplied, but if you already own your own set of Allen keys, tyre levers, pump, lubricant or any other basic tools, bring them along!
Each course is limited to 8 people, so be quick!
To book, call the Randwick City Council call centre on 1300 722 542, or if you would like more information on upcoming course dates, please call Randwick Council’s Sustainable Transport Officer on 9399 0934.

We’re in the process of coming up with a bike map for UNSW, similar to the one for Sydney Uni. We need your routes so that the map is as comprehensive as possible.
To submit your route, first put it on Bikely. This is super easy, and makes it much quicker to share with other people. Then email the link to
.
If you’re keen to help out with the map, let us know! We’ll organise a meeting before semester goes back to integrate all the routes we’ve been given.
You can see existing routes on our website; yours might be added there for the time being, so if you don’t mind having your name and email address next to it let us know.
